2PP (Two-Photon Polymerization)

A nano and micro scale 3D printing technology based on femtosecond lasers. It reaches extreme resolution below 1 micrometer, for micro-optics and micro-mechanics.

How it works

1. Process-specific preparation

Machine initialization, hardware calibration, and application of primers/feedstock for the respective technology.

2. Deposition

Spreading or extrusion of the primary material layer, whether powder, liquid droplets, filament or paste.

3. Bonding

Fusing of the feedstock through high-frequency lasers, thermal fields or chemical agents, depending on the kinematic path.

4. Repetition

Stepwise advance along the Z axis or multi-axis 5D nozzle kinematics, until the entire contour of the part is complete.

5. Industrial post-processing

Slow cooling, rinsing in solvents, controlled baking in furnaces, anodizing or structural heat treatment depending on crystallization.
