Slicer settings explained: 90 settings, drawn one by one

Slicer settings explained as cards: pick a setting or a problem, move the value and see what happens to the part. Each has a reason and a trap, and 88 of 90 have values by material.

What slicer settings are and how the visualizer shows them

Slicer settings explained here are the fields a slicer (the program that cuts a model into layers) uses to decide how to print: layer, walls, infill, speed, retraction. The visualizer shows 90 of them as cards with a drawing and an explanation.

The settings are arranged in eight topic tabs: quality and surface 22, strength 16, speed 12, supports 12, bed adhesion 8, temperature and cooling 6, retraction and travel 11, special and multi-material 3. The English name sits under the Bulgarian one; most names are as in OrcaSlicer and Bambu Studio, and some come from PrusaSlicer or Cura.

You click a card and a full page opens: what the setting is, what it is for, pros and cons, and under the drawing a block “В дълбочина” (In depth) with why it works, values by material, when NOT to use it and related settings.

What the visualizer does: 90 settings, drawn

Finds a setting by name or by problem

Search by the Bulgarian name, the English name or a keyword, or pick one of 12 problems, such as stringing, warping or ringing. A problem shows the settings that solve it.

Draws what the setting does

53 of the 90 pages have a slider: you move infill density, layer height, retraction or temperature and the drawing changes at once. On the rest the variants sit side by side or switch with a button.

Compares 16 infill patterns

The infill page shows gyroid, grid, triangles, honeycomb, cubic, lightning and ten more patterns, with pros, cons and a recommended percentage.

Gives a reason, a value and a trap

Every page has a reason and a trap, 88 of 90 have values by material, and the related settings are buttons.

When you open it: a defect, an unknown word, choosing infill

You open it when a print goes wrong or the slicer shows a word you do not know.

  • The print has a defect

Pick the problem “Паяжини / стрингове” (Stringing) and you get eight settings: retraction, retraction speed, temperature, wipe, Z-hop, combing and more.

  • An unknown word in the slicer

Search for Z-seam, ironing, fuzzy skin or Arachne and see it drawn, with the English name under the title.

  • Choosing infill

Slide the density and watch how the patterns thicken before you pick one.

  • Explaining to someone

The address with a # leads straight to one setting for someone already signed in with a free account: send it to a colleague or a student.

What stands behind each card and where the numbers come from

Everything is ready in the page and runs in the browser: nothing is sent to a server and there is no AI answering.

  1. The card

Each of the 90 settings is a card with a small drawing, a short explanation and a link to its page, grouped into 8 tabs.

  2. The page

Clicking opens a page with a large drawing and a slider or a switch. The drawing is redrawn at once while you slide.

  3. In depth

Under the drawing come the blocks “Защо работи” (Why it works), “Стойности по материал” (Values by material) and “Кога НЕ / капан” (When NOT / trap).

  4. The problems

The 12 problems are ready lists: stringing leads to 8 settings, warping to 9, slow printing to 7.

Drawn and arranged by topic

  • Drawn, not described

You see what the wall count or the layer height does to the cross section.

  • You start from the symptom

12 problems lead to the settings that solve them, not to a whole reference.

  • Every setting carries its trap

The “Кога НЕ / капан” (When NOT / trap) block is on all 90 pages.

What the visualizer does not do

The visualizer uses no AI, does not know your printer and changes nothing in the slicer: it shows and explains, and you set the number. The values are guides, and on some pages the blocks disagree: for PLA the temperature is 210 to 230 °C in the note under the drawing and 190 to 220 °C in the in-depth block. Check with a calibration print.

The screen is in Bulgarian only. The English setting names sit under the Bulgarian ones, but the explanations are not translated. Most names are as in OrcaSlicer and Bambu Studio, others come from PrusaSlicer or Cura and may be called differently in your menu.

Questions about slicer settings

What are wall loops in 3d printing?

The outlines the nozzle prints around the part, an outer wall and inner ones. More walls give a thicker, stronger shell and a longer print.

What does retraction do in 3d printing?

The slicer pulls the filament back before the nozzle crosses an empty gap, so no strings are left. The page draws it with a slider.

What is z seam in 3d printing?

Each layer starts and ends at one point of the outline, and that join is the seam, a small visible line or dot. A scarf joint can make it almost invisible.

How to fix stringing in 3d printing?

Pick the problem “Паяжини / стрингове” (Stringing) and you get eight settings: retraction, retraction speed, temperature, wipe, Z-hop, combing, coasting and coasting distance.

Which slicer is this for?

Most names are as in OrcaSlicer and Bambu Studio, others come from PrusaSlicer or Cura, and the ideas hold in every slicer.

Is the visualizer in English?

No. The screen and the explanations are in Bulgarian. The “EN” link in the site menu leads to this page, not to a translated app.

Does it cost anything or use AI?

It opens with a free account, uses no AI and spends no credits.

The visualizer opens with a free account. Pro opens the rest

Pro costs 15 EUR a month and opens 45 Pro tools. The visualizer uses no AI and spends no credits.
